If you’re a Godfather Movie nut like me, you know exactly where this mens dress hat gets it name from. It’s the scene from The Godfather, the first movie when Michael Corleone comes back from Italy after being on the lam from killing the police captain and Sollazo. He meets up with Kaye while she is tending her young school children wearing the that hat.Originally these felt dress hats were known as Homburg Dress Hats. Now known as the Godfather hats.We have Godfather Hats in many colors.Almost every mens dress suit and Walking Suit we sell has an available Wool Felt Godfather Hat to match.Godfather Hats are one of the most popular hats we currently stock.Putting a Godfather dress hat on your head really finishes your look.More and more people are wearing matching Godfather hats when they get dressed up for special occasions.Depending on what part of the big ole’ U.S.A you come from, Dress hats are called many different things. Some people call them Godfathers dress hats, others call them Godfather Church Hats or just plain Godfather Hats. I’ve heard some people call them Fedoras which is incorrect because Fedora dress hats are a different style dress hat with a similar purpose.People from the West Indies call them Men’s Felt Hats and Many people who are over 40 refer to them as Brims. Teenagers seem to refer to them as pimp hats. I guess being a pimp is cool. Men’s Godfather Dress Hats Available Here
The Mens Godfather Hats we carry are made of a fine dense 100% wool felt. They have a creamy satin lining for comfort. They are not crushable hats. Crushable hats are usually casual hats for wearing tweeds and corduroys with. True dress hats are not made for crushing. You’ll just ruin the dress hat.

Many of my customers wear casual walking suits for many different occasions. They are great for wearing on a Friday night out on the town to a nice night club or comedy club. Have you ever heard of First Friday’s. That is when you get dressed up along with everyone else and go to a predetermined place for a First Friday event which just so happens to be the First Friday of every month. They have them in connecticut where I’m located.
Casual two piece sets are also great to wear to casual weddings, and sweet sixteen birthday parties. One of the things that make them great to wear is that they are a dressy matching outfit. Do you know your zoot suit Fashion? We sure do. We’ve been in the suit business for twenty five years. One thing for sure is that time does not stand still in the Zoot Suit fashion business.Every season of every year there are fabric and style updates. You can rest assure that the fashion dress suit you have from 5 years ago is time to be retired. The zoot suit of the 1930s and 1940s are nothing like the ones that are worn today. Those zoot suits had crazy wide peaked lapels on a baggy fitting coat with very baggy high waist pants that seemed to go up to the armpits. You simply can’t compare the two suits. Modern zoot suits have a finely tailored cut. It is going to fit beautifully and look classy. A finely cut zoot suit dress suit should fit like it was made for your body. The collar should hug the nape of your neck. The body of the coat should fit like a glove. Not tight but with just the right amount of freedom of movement. The sleeves cuff should break at the wrist and no longer than that so a bit of the dress shirt cuff is exposed. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen people try on a dress suit and raise their arms up in the air to check to see if the sleeves are long enough. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. If you do that with a proper fitting dress suit of course the sleeves will come down and look too short. Zoot Suits these days are finely constructed garments that are form fitting ,not garments for “Dancing with the Stars”. You must have noticed that they usually wear outfits and that give the dancer freedom of movement. Suits are just not made for twirling freely and hoisting your female partner up in the air.
The style of a Zoot suit comprises of many components. I will simplify like this. Lapels,Length,Vents, and Fabric.
First off, Lapels.Zoot Suit designers for some reason have to change up the look every year just to keep people interested in the new zoot suit . Lapels on a men’s zoot suit can be either peaked or notched on top. The designers can and will change the width of the lapels from narrow of the eighties to medium width as they are today. In the seventies the suit lapels were very wide and were accessorized with a wide tie. Length of the zoot suit coat is another thing that always changes. The most common length on a men’s zoot suit jacket these days is 34-36 inches long. A few years ago it was not uncommon for the zoot suit jacket to reach over 40-42 inches long coming down to the knee of even calf. When it comes to vents that is when the designers keep everyone confused. We currently carry dress suits from Stacy Adams Suits ,soprano and Falcone Suits with all different vent configurations. From open double vent to closed vent. Also the new thing in suit vents is the split in the middle of the back. There is no reason to be afraid though. Because style concerning zoot suits is just like surfing.Men’s Fashion Zoot Suit Dress Suits

Being in the Men’s Fashion Business for 25 years, you get a permanent sense of fashion expertise. You start to learn whats in style and how to match it up from Suits to Shoes and from Dress Shirts to Dress Hats and everywhere in between. It becomes second nature to coordinate which colors to which items and which style to which person. One size does not fit all with style. It really takes skill to put an outfit together for that person. Some people may not look right in certain colors or certain color combinations may not look right on that individual. I can tell right off the bat if that combo will work on my customer and if not, I’ll steer them into something that will work. A short and stocky gentleman just won’t look right wearing the longer jacket zoot suit where as the taller lankier Gentleman will truly shine. It always requires a little forethought and savvy to properly outfit the customer. Also fabric patterns are just as important. Some stripe or plaid combinations just don’t look right on the shorter man. Zootsuit fashion is something that needs to be annalized before committing. By putting customer service first and putting the customer into a suit that looks right on him, the customer will acquire a sense of loyalty to your fashion sense. Not everyone knows how to put colors and styles of suits together and make it work with that customer’s size and complexion. I think that Steve Harvey is personally respondsible for the resurgence in men’s suit fashions. Sure Steve Harvey is one of the Kings of Comedy but he really is one of the kings of suits. He became so well known for being a suit nut that he eventually was approached by a suit manufacturer to make a line of expensive suits with his name on it.
Men’s Church Suit Fashion is a constantly evolving entity. Every year the fabrics, cut, and style of church suits change. For Me, it is second nature. That is why I’ve been in this business for as long as I’ve been. Pimpin’ is Easy
